How I meditate

The settings the app starts with are not factory numbers. They are the ones I use for my own sits, every day. The feedback is the ElectronicMonk scale, from Trinity through Advanced III.

The timer and the sleep alarm depend on the time of day. In a daytime sit I have both on. At night, when I expect to fall asleep and want to, I turn both off — or I leave the sleep alarm off and set the timer to an open end, so nothing brings me back.

You can change all of it. But if you do not know where to start, start with the settings I use.

And if that is too hard at first, use the calibration modes — Quiet and Still. They set the target from your own brainwaves, so there is something you can reach. Practise there, then come back and try mine. You will know you are ready when the feedback comes often enough that you feel you can stay there and improve. Too little feedback means you are still too far away, and that is discouraging rather than useful. Quiet and Still move with you as you improve, so they cannot tell you when you are ready. Only the scale can.

What it does

Live feedback

Sounds tell you when you are moving in the intended direction, then get out of the way. Choose the sounds, volumes and how often you want to hear them.

Personal calibration

A short calibration sit sets a reachable first target from your own brainwaves, so a beginner can progress without having to understand EEG values. Save your calibration and meditate again later to compare your progress.

Quiet and Still

Two beginner-friendly feedback modes, set from your own calibration, so there is a reachable first step.

The ElectronicMonk progression

A ladder of deeper states to grow into. The ElectronicMonk scale is designed to take you from Trinity, the first deeper level, to rising above physical-body consciousness, seeing inner lights and more. Verified through years of advanced practitioners' graphs.

Custom EEG

Set your own rules and thresholds using a single brainwave or a combination of brainwaves.

Sleep alarm

Optional alarm that brings you back if you drift from meditation into sleep.

Signal quality

The raw signal is cleaned up, so the feedback works with a clean signal. See how well each sensor is reading, and get a warning if the headband loses contact or the connection drops.

Timer and waypoints

Sit open-ended, or set the hours and minutes you want. Place waypoints along the way, each with its own sound and volume, and a sound when the timer finishes.

Points and levels

Collect points for every sit, climb the levels, and unlock achievements as you reach deeper states.

Session history

Every sit saved with graphs of feedback, brainwaves, signal quality and movement. Add names, notes, bookmarks and folders.

Your data, your files

Export any session as a full CSV or an ElectronicMonk report. No account, no cloud: everything stays on your phone. Open a report in the session viewer — it runs in your browser, and the file never leaves your computer.

Your own sounds

Import your own sounds, or record your own sound or spoken countdown.

Start with what works. Change anything.
Your brain, your practice, your rules.

From the first sit toward increasingly deep practice.

What you need
