Privacy policy

This privacy policy covers the ElectronicMonk meditation app. Privacy contact: emsupport@prottvr.com.
In short
What the app uses: EEG and signal-quality data, motion, and a heart-rate estimate from your compatible Muse headband; your session times, names, notes, settings and calibration; sounds you choose to record or import; and a small technical connection log (headband model, battery level and connection state).
Where it goes: Nowhere. Everything stays in the app's private storage on your phone. There is no account, no cloud, no analytics and no ads. Nobody, including us, sees your data. A file leaves the app only when you export it yourself to a location you choose.
Permissions
- Nearby devices / Bluetooth: to find and connect to your Muse headband.
- Location (Android 11 and older only): those Android versions require it for Bluetooth scanning. ElectronicMonk never reads, stores or sends your location.
- Microphone: only when you choose to record your own sound or spoken countdown.
- Files: sound import and exports use Android's own file and folder picker. The app only touches the file or folder you pick.
Sharing and selling
We do not collect, receive, sell or share your data. The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services and does not send your data to us or to anyone else.
Exports
You can export a session as a file (for example a CSV) to a location you choose. Once exported, that file is yours and under your control, including who you share it with and when you delete it.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Your data stays on your phone until you delete it.
- Delete a single session from History.
- Profile → Clear All Data deletes everything the app has stored: sessions, recordings, settings, calibration, personal sounds, profile and progress, and the connection log.
- Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, also deletes everything.
- Files you exported are not affected; delete them from the location you saved them to.
Security
Data is kept in Android's app-private storage, which other apps cannot read. Protect your phone with a screen lock and take care of any files you export. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Health
This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Changes
If ElectronicMonk ever adds a feature that sends data off your phone, this policy will be updated before that feature is released, and the effective date above will change.
